After a business trip to Tallahassee last week, I decided to take a couple of days to check out the nearby Panhandle beaches for the first time. As soon as I saw the view from my rental condo’s balcony 17 stories above Destin, I noticed how many different human stories were playing out right below me (and in some cases, directly at eye level.)

I immediately challenged myself to produce a video shooting just from the balcony and using only my Canon 60D DSLR camera. The video is embedded below, but it’s best viewed full screen. Now – back to work!

ObamaCare One Year Later: How’s It Going?

This week marks the one-year anniversary of the passage of Obamacare, so the small-business group NFIB recently sent me to Ohio to ask some of their members just how last year’s promises are panning out. Here’s the video I produced for them:

Breaking News on YouTube

Last Friday I had the pleasure of discussing how to break news on YouTube with the New Media Exchange. We’re all reporters these days and every grassroots, political, and policy organization should be proactively telling their stories the way they want them to be told – because the old media just isn’t going to be fair to the free-market side most of the time.

Here’s a .pdf version of my presentation.

As we celebrate President Reagan’s 100th birthday, here’s a short video I produced for one of my clients, NFIB. The video shows highlights from Reagan’s 1983 speech commemorating NFIB’s 40th anniversary. Nearly 30 years after it was delivered, it’s amazing how relevant Reagan’s remarks remain today.

Sen. Marco Rubio just released Flip cam video that he shot on a recent trip to Afghanistan. Very smart – more elected officials should be doing this…

Today’s the one-year anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, and the country is still in chaos. A couple of months ago my girlfriend visited Haiti for the American Red Cross – she shot a lot of footage, which I edited into the short video below. I have no idea how Haiti can transform itself from a failed state into a productive one, but I figured I’d post this video as a reminder that there are real problems out there in the world. And Sarah Palin’s Facebook page isn’t one of them.

Taken from a livestream that was recorded last week, No Reservations host (and outspoken liberal) Anthony Bourdain talks about reasonable discourse with people who may not share our political ideologies.

Fast-forward to the 3:50 mark.
